Large scale injection molding, precision injection molding and thin wall injection molding are the three main forms of injection molding. Different injection molding process has different requirements for the mold. In this paper, the characteristics of three different types of injection mold are compared and analyzed, and on this basis, the domestic research status in various fields is summarized. With the rapid development of economy and the improvement of people's living standards, people have higher requirements in the development of large capacity washing machines, large screen TVs, automobiles, aerospace, etc. At present, there is no unified standard for the division of large injection mold. Generally speaking, the mold with an area of more than 3000 square centimeters can be called large injection mold. At the same time, there are more than 2 tons of mold mass known as large injection mold. Compared with ordinary injection molding, large injection molding products have the characteristics of large volume and good quality. Large injection mold also has its own positioning, in mold design, mold material selection and other aspects have their own unique requirements, specifically reflected in the following aspects: 1, cavity, strength, stiffness requirements. Because of the high pressure of melt, the cavity of large injection mold is easy to produce large deformation, and the elastic deformation increases with the increase of cavity size and pressure. (2) Cavity composition requirements. Compared with small and medium-sized injection mold, the cavity and core structure of large injection mold are more complex. In order to improve the use efficiency and save raw materials, large injection mold often adopts modular cavity structure, while the more complex cavity combination requires higher requirements.
