At present, the common degradable raw materials are starch based plastics, cellulose based plastics, PHA, PHB and PLA. The specific physical properties are shown in the figure below. Here we focus on the difference between PHA and PHB: the full name of PHA is polyhydroxyalkanoate; the full name of PHB is polyhydroxybutyrate. Due to the weak injection processing ability of PHA, PHB or phvb made of PHA is commonly used.
What is the difference between injection molding process and ordinary injection molding?
There is a great difference between degradable plastics and ordinary plastics in injection molding process. The reason is that degradable plastics are generally non Newtonian fluid with poor fluidity. They do not melt at low temperature and are easy to decompose at high temperature, so the processing temperature range is low. Different degradable raw materials have different processing technology. Taking PHA as an example, the reverse temperature control method can be used, that is, the temperature at the lower part of hopper is higher than that of nozzle. This method can well control the melting of raw materials and the loss of molecular weight.
What should be paid attention to in selective injection molding machine?
Ordinary injection molding machine can't produce degradable materials at all, because degradable materials are sensitive to temperature. When the temperature is low, the fluidity is very poor, which causes relatively large pressure on the pull rod and injection piston rod of the injection molding machine, which is easy to lead to the failure of normal molding; or after normal use for a period of time, the performance of the injection molding machine declines obviously, which can't be produced normally. It is generally recommended to use the "fast machine" series servo injection molding machine, which has high mechanical tuning performance and reduces the consumption of energy consumption, which is conducive to the molding of degradable materials.
